Chiwetelu Ejiofor, A Great Nigerian In The Movie World

Being the first post of this blog, first of all I would like to introduce that this blog is all about great nigerians making waves all around the world and at same time motivating other Nigerians like me.

The first person is Mr Chiwetelu Ejiofor.


His full name is Chiwetelu Umeadi  Ejiofor.


He was born on the 10th July, 1977 to the Nigerian family of Mr/Mrs Arinze Ejiofor in London's Forest Gate.


His Father, Mr Arinze was a  doctor, and his mother, Obiajulu, was a pharmacist. 


At the tender age of 11(1988), Mr Chiwetelu lost his father in a fatal accident when their car was involved in a head-on crash with a lorry, in Lagos during a family trip to Nigeria


But Mr Chiwetelu Ejiofor survived despite being badly injured, receiving the trademark scars on his forehead.



He  has been acting since at the age of 13 during his school days at Dulwich College and he later joined the National Youth Theatre.


He acted in many films like , "Deadly Voyage", "She Hate Me", "Four Brothers", "Melinda and Melinda", among others.
But 1 particular film brought much fame. That film is "Salt", where he took the role of Peabody.  He featured along with Angelina Jolie (Evlyn Salt) and  Liev Schreiber (Ted Winter).

Mr Chiwetelu Ejiofor has received several acting awards and nominations including 2006 BAFTA Awards Rising Star, three Golden Globe Awards' nominations, and the 2008 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor for his performance in Othello.


Mr Chiwetelu Ejiofor is Nigerian and I am Proud To be a Nigerian.
